Plants for cleaving stratified rocks

Cleaving stratified rocks is performed manually across the globe. Skilled hands aided by mallets and wedges know who to identify the right vein of the stone to separate the layers and produce uniform slabs. This is a physically demanding job for workers who cleave tons of stone each day by hand. Thanks to the in-house research department, Steinex has the honour of being the first company to find a way to mechanise this process. The Igloo SFD plant makes it possible to cleave blocks up to a height of 800mm, while with the Menhir SFD it is possible to cleave blocks up to a height of 1600 mm. All manipulation and cleavage operations, movements of the conveyors, manipulators and machine are conveniently controlled using the console and joystick with no physical strain for the operator.
